Feeling Good...

I've still got the January blues. I know, I know, it's February, but I'm pretty sure this 'down in the dumps' feeling lasts until the sun decides to rear its oh-so-glowy head.

I'm desperate for some sunshine, not only so I can top up my tan, but so I can start to feel good about myself again! I don't know what it is about the good weather, but I tend to find that it puts me in a good mood as well as, being really good for the body and soul.

But alas, I live in Britain and so God knows when the sun will make its' appearance. So I've come up with 5 top tips for giving your body some feel good lovin' during the dull transition from Spring to Winter...

1. Hydrate
I know this 'fact' is everywhere, but I can't stress enough how important it is to stay hydrated! I'm guilty of this one myself, but if you make little changes like keeping a water bottle in your bag at all times, then you're bound to increase your fluid intake. I enjoy a glass of hot water and lemon in the morning, and try and make sure I drink lots throughout the day.

2. Take your vitamins!
Ahh, good ol' cold and flu season. Hands up if you're fed up of drinking Lemsip and popping Ibuprofen like there's no tomorrow? My favourite alternative is this immune system boost; 'Immunaid'. They're soft chewy pastilles from Bimuno prebiotics, and essentially give your immune system a kick into shape.

3. Eat well
I roll my eyes every time someone tells me that 'eating healthy is expensive'. No it's not! It really doesn't have to be! All it takes is a few healthy changes: quinoa instead of rice, sweet potato instead of white potato, making your own sauces instead of jar sauces. You'll soon be surprised at how much better you feel - and you might even start to lose that Christmas flab that's still hanging around...

4. Exercise
I'm not talking about a full on workout if that's not your thing - some people just don't have time and others, well... we're just a little lazy. But exercising can be FUN! Walk the dog for a couple of hours, download a yoga app... buy yourself a fitness DVD that will make you giggle! Don't laugh, but one of my favourite work out DVD's to do is the Pussycat Dolls fitness regime. It makes me feel silly - in a good way, and I can't help but laugh every time Robin Antin tells me to 'push my booty out'.

5. Learn to love the rain
This is by far the hardest one. In fact, as I sit here, I'm staring gloomily out of the window at the rain falling down and dreading the fact that I have to go out to work in it in a moment. Buuuut it can be fun, as long as you're in the right frame of mind! Living on the boat, it's quite therapeutic to lay by the fire all tucked up in cushions and blankets and listen to the rain pounding down on the roof! Cook yourself a winter warmer, get some candles lit, and enjoy the horrible weather from the comfort of your own home...

Aaaaand if you just can't wait for the sunshine to appear, why not book yourself a holiday?! Bimuno are currently holding a competition to win a £500 Trail Finders giftcard. You can view all competition details here!

Interior Wishlist

Following on from my earlier post, I have also been doing a litttttle bit of Internet window shopping.

Don't get me wrong, I'm very happy with the way the interior is looking at the minute - we've finally got everything how we want it. But that never stops us from looking, does it?!

Below you can see my wishlist, featuring some amazing things from H&M home and Zara Home, taking styling tips from the ever-so-chic Emblem Furniture, who have - in my opinion - some of the most beautiful show homes out there.

Let me know what you think!

Interior Updates

It's been a long time since I last updated with an interior post, I was doing some Pinterest browsing recently, and the festive decor got me in the mood to share some of my Christmassy home updates.

I've been obsessing over gigantic red doors, floor-to-ceiling uPVC windows dusted with snow and wreaths covered in holly and berries. Buuuuut, living on a boat, these are some things are just pretty impossible for me to achieve!

We put our tree up last week, and we're very happy with the outcome:

We opted for reds and golds because, well, that's just the festive 'norm' isn't it?!

My Mum bought us some gorgeous decorations in the shape of a boot, which look the same as the boot we have drawn on the side of the boat. So naturally, these went up straight away!

Whilst buying my tree, I also caught sight of these amazing bright red poinsettias. I think they look extremely festive, and it's brightened up the room.

Mine was a mere British pound from B&Q. Bargain!

Last but not least - an absolute 'must have' interior update for the festive season is 'Christmas' scented candles.

Rob bought me 'Christmas Memories' by Yankee Candles last year and I'm absolutely obsessed with the smell. It has hints of cinnamon and spices, and makes you feel nostalgic for Christmas baking and, well, Christmas Memories!

My other two favourites are a 'fir tree' scented candle from Homebase, and a 'Mulberry' scented one. I'm not entirely sure where I got this, but I have a feeling it was Wilkinsons.

How have you updated your home for Christmas?
